The Torogoz Token ($TOGO) is a future imagining of the National Digital Currency of El Salvador.

For currency is a reflection of the times. A nation’s currency reflects its culture, its politics, its sovereignty. In August 28th, 1892, we first heard the hammer falls of gold and silver coins denominated in pesos and centavos from the newly established Salvadoran mint.

But it has been over 131 years since our own hands were the ones shaping the faces we use to know.

A bird of the Isthmus, The Torogoz, i.e The Clock Bird says “It’s time to mint again”. Its tick-tock reverberates the sounds of a new financial revolution in El Salvador and it begins with the Torogoz Token ($TOGO).

Roadmap

The revolution will not be streamed, it will be minted

The goal of the Torogoz Token ($TOGO) is to generate abundance for El Salvador, abundance for the Diaspora, abundance for all of our friends. That is, the goal is to inspire the next National Digital Currency of El Salvador — whether it be a cryptocurrency, a stablecoin or a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).

The revolution will not be streamed, it will be minted, on blocks we cannot carry, but whose weight we can see.

Where we are going, there are no roads and so we fly. It is here where we will release our milestones in the form of boarding passes — make sure to not miss your flight!

How to Buy

Set Up A Crypto Wallet

If you don’t have one already, we recommend using MetaMask, it’s a user-friendly and widely-used Ethereum wallet.

Acquire $ETH

You will need Ethereum ($ETH) to buy $TOGO. You can either do a Direct Purchase, that is, buy $ETH directly through the MetaMask wallet or do an Exchange Purchase, which is, purchasing $ETH on a cryptocurrency exchange (DEX or CEX) and transfer it to your MetaMask wallet.

Add Torogoz Token to MetaMask

Copy the Torogoz Token contract address from the Tokenomics section, then in MetaMask, add a custom token using the copied contract address to view your $TOGO balance after you purchase.

Buy $TOGO on Uniswap

Visit the Uniswap website and connect your MetaMask wallet, you will then paste the Torogoz Token contract address into the search field and finally swap your $ETH for $TOGO.
